Chuck Darrell
Chuck came to know the Lord in his early 30's. “I was taken out behind the wood shed and given a stern lecture as to who was truth,” says Darrell. “For years I had denied Him when on Easter Sunday the Lord made it very clear that I was to accept who he was or I would crawl out of the church underneath the pews like a snake on my belly. For years I was ashamed to share my testimony because it seemed contrary to the glowing versions shared by others. Now I wear it like a badge.”
With a new heart and purpose Darrell understood that Christianity was loosing the battle in the public square. As faith was being quarantined to the four walls of the local church, he decided to engage the culture. “The Lord took my previous rebellious nature and redirected it to rebel against the rulers of this world, he says”
After several years he decided to test his ideas in the arena as a free lance writer. His editorials were published and he was asked to become part of a grass roots organization working to protect marriage in Minnesota.
Currently Chuck is Director of Communications for Minnesota for Marriage, a project of the Minnesota Family Council. Minnesota for Marriage is coordinating efforts to pass the marriage amendment in Minnesota. His duties have put him in the arena as a writer and media spokesperson for Minnesota for Marriage. He is also working closely with pastors to organize grassroots efforts in churches to pass the marriage amendment.
Recently, Minnesota for Marriage held a Pastors' Summit. The Summit featured many nationally known speakers such as David Barton, Colby May of ACLJ, and HB London of FOTF. The summit drew over 350 pastors and religious leaders from across Minnesota and equipped pastors to engage the culture – beginning with the marriage amendment.
